I love STL but it’s so sad to see what’s going on in this city, especially this year. Unprecedented levels of violence against each other and cops. St. Louis is currently #1 in 2020 for Homicides per capital.

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A 35-year old St. Louis police officer is out of the hospital and recovering after being shot in the shoulder Sunday night while attempting to make a traffic stop. He's the ninth officer in the city to be shot in the line of duty since June. One of those nine was 29-year old officer Tamarris Bohannon, who was shot and killed at the end of August.

"This is I think unprecedented to have this much direct violence against police officers. We've seen this across the country also. But it's a very dangerous and stressful time to be a police officer," said St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson. According to the St. Louis Police Department, two officers tried to stop a red Chevrolet Impala around 9:20 p.m. for not having a license plate. Police said the car sped away and near Broadway and Prairie a suspect fired shots at the officers. One of the bullets went through the windshield and hit the officer in the passenger seat in the shoulder. That officer was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital and was treated and released later.

Bham Dore was just telling us last night that it’s not dangerous to be a cop.

frick Obama. That worthless piece of shite set the wheels in motion for this war on police. I have a neighbor who is a police officer and would gladly use my guns to defend him if need be.

Media hates you.
Rioters piss on you.
Thugs hunt you.
Mayor and DA don't give a shite a out you.
Being a cop in a big city right now is just stupid.

Yup. The north side of stl, more specifically Baden, is probably the most dangerous place in America right now

Naw. They have 26,000 people and well over 25 murders.
St. Louis only has 195 (or so) murders for 290,000 people.
ESL still showing us who is boss.

I honestly don’t understand the mental gymnastics needed to make you say this. Trump has literally been President for four years but all he continues to do is tweet law and order.

I don’t blame Obama.
I blame the progressive local politicos who refuse to act and support their law enforcement agencies.

Did the shots come from the car being chased or some random bystander standing on the corner who saw the events unfold and decided f--k tha police, I'm shooting at those assholes.
If it's the latter that's really messed up. As wrong as it is, I can at least understand a suspect trying to avoid a lengthy prison term by resisting arrest or worse, shooting at the cops. A cornered animal is a dangerous animal.
But these new incidents of people just popping off at cops unprovoked is outrageous. And it's completely driven by the media and politician enablers.

But again, Trump is the president, the GOP controls the Senate, and mostly the Supreme Court. This lawlessness has gone well beyond local politicians and could be ended in a day if the GOP had the guts to do it. Now don’t get me wrong, I understand why Trump is doing what he’s doing since it’s politically working for him. But at the end of the day, he could end it all if wanted but he’s putting politics above all else, so it’s disingenuous to blame the dems when the the Republicans are more than happy to allow this to continue.

It’s a bottom-up problem, not a top-down issue.
Portland already went nuts that the administration “sent in the feds.”
These mayors and governors need to get it together.
The responsibility/$ is on their own locales and citizens, not on the remainder of the country.

quote:ok mr pretzel. seriously? he's being accused of being a fascist WITHOUT forcing the fedgov into these cities. there's absolutely nothing wrong with how he's handled it. he's left if up to them and extended support to them if they want it. of course they don't so their cities are burning.

quote:why? it's completely, 100% their fault whether you believe a conspiracy exists to sow anarchy or they're just incompetent. either way, it's squarely and solely on them
it’s disingenuous to blame the dems
