Wanting to get out of Louisiana and experience something new. Thinking the Houston Area. Anyone have any decent suggestions on areas with decent pricing? Not trying to overdue the monthly balance...

Thats going to get you in the hood if anywhere in most larger towns. Houston real estate at least used to be the least expensive of the big 4 in Texas but I haven't looked in 10 years or so. You might narrow your scope to smaller towns. I was in Memphis in the late 2000's in a flat for $850 downtown but that apartment is $1200 now. Check out real estate apps/websites.

Good luck man...700-800 bucks isn't going to go far here, at least in a desirable area.

Hope you have a bulletproof vest if you move to Houston with that budget...

..yeah I thought that too.

Soon as I did, there's stupid covid and racial and gay riots everywhere for no reason for over 100 days in a row and now everything is on fire

You choose the one place that has more people from Lousiana than actual Lousiana

You'll need to spend between 1,000-1,200 to find a decent place in the Houston area.

You could get something in Beaumont for that much.
