quote:Trump “averages out“ in a fairly Centrist position. The problem is that his data points are scattered all over the political landscape, with a spread like nothing anyone has ever seen in American politics.
I would argue Trump is about as centrist as they come
e.g. (large spread vs narrow spread)
This happens when you choose your positions based upon populism rather than ideology.

So, Trump does what he thinks is right for the country regardless of where it falls on the political spectrum. That’s good for America and bad for career politicians on both sides.

It was described the other day by Kushner regarding Trump’s approach.
Trump believes strong economic opportunity heals everything. Kushner describes this in the approach to foreign policy; however, Trump really has this same focus in the US. I believe he stated this in the Portnoy interview clearly.
He believes if he can generate job growth and economic opportunity in this country then everything else will relatively work out. That means he wants to stop wasting money in unnecessary military conflicts, he wants to prevent manufacturing from leaving the US, and that he wants all Americans to benefit from improved American business climate.
Making sure we have public safety and follow laws is just obvious. I still struggle with the ridiculous idea of the democrats defunding law enforcement agencies.
The main criticism of the right has been their past foreign policy involvement and globalism.
The main criticism of the left has been their identity politics, globalism, and ridiculous desired actions regarding “the climate”.
The only reason I can understand Trump appears to be all over the map is the polarization of politics. Many of these issues don’t have much of a middle position. It is either primarily one way or the other.
