they have a team.... sort of. (they play at leo's )

But if that team wasn't a club team who lost every game by scores like 17-2, I imagine they'd use the centroplex or something.

Okay, The University of Alabama, Huntsville has a hockey team. I read some genius on here saying that it would cost millions upon millions to start a haockey team and to fund one. No it wouldn't. The football team had pretty meager beginnings. A hockey team could stand to pay its dues in obscureland for a couple of decades until they get a following.

If LSU wanted a hockey team, they could have one for less than a lot of you think.

They don't want one though. How many kids play hockey around this area? Not many. There are two sports higher on the totem pole that would be added before hockey. It would also cost a lot to maintain the ice.

Hopefully LSU will keep the Hockey team a club sport for the following reasons:

1. Not enough people would support it and it would drain money from the sports that matter.

2. Would have to add a worthless women's sport to financially support as well.

3. It would give TAF an excuse to double the donations for season football tickets.

If you want hockey, move above the mason dixon line, otherwise, feel free to support it on your own, as a club sport.

Wow, where has all the hockey talk come from? Doesn't make sense at all.

Why not lacrosse? Lacrosse is the new soccer. It is growing as a youth sport (gang-busters here in Florida) and could play on existing fields. LSU has a club team already. If you aren't familiar with it, it is a pretty cool sport. JMHO.

haha, it's all about laying pipes down.

As for the record last year, playing teams who have had a club team for 5 or more years... Really? You're going to base your opinion on the first season? You have kids from wisconson, conneticut, new orleans, etc all used to playing different styles of hockey, its hard to get everyone on the same page to reach sky high standards while only being able to afford 2 practices a week

Global warming is shifting the polar caps to Baton Rouge, we'll play outside, no problem.

first season for any team is rough. its not like they played a bunch of other first time teams like in other sports. i would have loved to had it as a club sport when i was in school.
