How is a person of color any different than a colored person?

Well at least it’s better you brought this here than try this at work or in public

Being of color means you were born that way.

Colored means somebody crayoned your arse.

There's roughly 30 words in the English lexicon of words that are still safe to say.

Person of color places emphasis on color. Colored person places emphasis on person. Dems don’t want you to see the individual.

Why? It isn’t terminology I would ever use in describing someone but Democrats sure do.

Dude, I asked the same exact thing today (to my wife who generally just ignores me), and then the new James Lee Burke novel uses it, and not by a bad character (no spoilers). Read that part today so it has been on my mind.

What happens is, guilty subtly bigoted libs decide they need to show how much they care by trying to wipe clean names and traditions and change definitions and mores. I would say that maybe colored people is a term that whites imposed, but I don't think that's true and the NAACP hasn't changed its name.

There's definitely no principled difference. But I'm not sure there really ever is with language itself. Words qua words are value-free. We have to attach value to them.

What are we talking about again? F it. I'm over it.

The only reason I asked is because a person in my office(obvious Democrat) used that term and I immediately thought it sounds just as bad. What’s the difference? Tbh, I have friends that are black and were born here and they are black Americans. I have a friend from Nigeria, who has become a US citizen after waiting 13 years, and I consider him an African American. I’ve never understood the conflation of those two things either.

There’s the history of white racists using the term “colored people” in a derogatory fashion. POC is a proud statement by proud Black people.

As soon as they brought out "my truth", that changed everything for them. No facts, no stats, etc. can override their accepted "truth".

"Democracy".

They use it CONSTANTLY.

They give the impression that they want us all to have a say in things, but really what they want, is total control by government, which is the exact opposite of having a say in how things are done.

The term could be used to describe every human being on the planet. Proud or otherwise.

So Black Pride is fine. White Pride not so much?
