I didn't even know such a thing existed... Glad I learned something new.

I have always liked taking a steam after a workout at the gym, when I have time. So, I decided to include a steam shower as part of a home reno. Two months in and I use it 3 times a week and love it.
The only drawback for me is the added cost. The system alone was around $1500. We needed to add additional tile (including the ceiling) and glass to enclose everything. Contractor also suggested a better than average exhaust fan near the shower door. Also, be sure you have a circuit that can handle the steam unit. I kept tripping the breaker and had to upgrade a breaker.
The unit we bought is called Steamist.

I have a Mr. Steam. The only thing I dont like about it: I was concerned with keeping a tile shower clean so I put it in a stone filled cultured marble shower. The steam heats the glue up and it smells strongly. Im hoping it stops that at some point soon.
I'm wanting to say the unit was 2k and Mr. Steam is probably the most common unit.

If you get a steam shower make sure the tile installer is familiar with the kerdi waterproofing method. There are several other brand like laticrete but kerdi was the first waterproof membrane for tiles. I’ve installed it once and it is a PITA.
