Tottenham Hotspur fired manager Jose Mourinho and the rest of his coaching staff Monday, the team announced.
Chairman Daniel Levy released a statement on the decision: "Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a Club. Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic. On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged. He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution."

I have no idea what to expect from this season, but my body is ready.
The first few weeks will have some brutal fixture congestion between EPL, EFL Cup, and Europa qualifying rounds.

In for whatever this is! We are gonna be stuck with Sissoko and Aurier aren't we?
Think our serial downvoter will be able to find us?

Oof.
Looks like 4 wins and a loss to Crystal Palace for me.

We have a club-friendly today. Beating Ipswich Town 2-0 13 minutes in. Son and Sessegnon have scored. Getting closer!!!
CCV sighting! Word is Gedson had a good game.

Yeah Gedson had tons of space down the right today. Granted he wasn’t asked to defend much considering the opposition, but I think he could be a really nice RB if they moved him there. He lacked a bit of quality with his crosses into the box, and wasn’t able to pick up an assist, but he worked hard and is technically talented. I’d like to see him against tougher opposition in that position, but he might be an improvement on Aurier now.
Hojbjerg had a nice first half too. His pressure let to the second goal, and he worked hard linking up with players ahead of him.
Dele Alli’s flicks worked today, and he had a nice half with two assists.
Despite Sessegnon’s first half goal I’m still not sold on him, especially as a winger. He basically did nothing after his first goal.
Son is son = GOAT
Moura was pretty quiet, but not bad.
Winks worked hard with hojbjerg to control the middle.
Defense had very little to do, but foyth picked up a nice assist for son’s second goal.
A lot of academy kids came on in second half, but nothing much to report, except that Jack Clarke is trash, and Leeds stealing 10+ mill off levy For him was a masterclass.

Doherty has impressed with not only his defensive ability but also his attacking presence and surprising eye for a goal in the wing-back position for Nuno Espirto Santo’s side. The 28-year-old has been an ever-present in this impressive Wanderers team, making 50 appearances in all competitions last season with 7 goals and 5 assists

Ffs. This fricking guy.

I mean, it’s not like Jose was going to let him see the pitch. So I guess it really has no impact on the squad.

Maybe I’m just overly dense or naive, but I had hoped that given the run of games at the beginning of the season, and ANOTHER preseason, ndombele would finally be able to hit the ground running, and would see real minutes. I wanted a no excuses start to the season for him so he could be fairly judged, and if he was still lazy & disinterested I’d feel better about spurs finally letting him go.

Same.
Going to give him until Thanksgiving before I pass judgement.

These preseason friendlies are getting my hopes way too high for this season.
Currently up 3-0 vs Reading at half.
ETA: Now 4-0 with a Lamela freekick. Didn't realize he had that in his locker.
