You may be right but Chelsea isn’t beating anyone worth a shite scoring 1.6 goals a game. Tough stretch coming up including Atletico and this team has to figure out how to score goals.

Pulisic needs to be a 65th minute super sub. He’s utter shite as a starter

He definitely needs to pick it up a few notches. But am I the only one wondering what the hell Timo did to earn PL starts? He’s had 1 or 2 matches where he wasn’t a complete embarrassment.

Timo started out very hot actually. Then hit a goal-less skid he can’t fix. Now that Tuchel is manager he’ll get as much rope as possible.

Chelsea: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Hudson-Odoi, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso, Werner, Mount, Abraham.
Subs: Mendy, Kante, Pulisic, Zouma, Giroud, Chilwell, Ziyech, James, Emerson.

A win gets Blues in the top-4 and Kepa gets the start? No idea what Tuchel is doing here. This is a head-scratcher.

Could say the same for Christensen, Jorginho, and Werner.

Throwing the dumb fricks on the board a bone. Someone pulled the trigger on kepa and wants to get out of that jam. Wont happen with kepa on the bench.

Fully prepared to lose or draw late thanks to a set piece.

My only thought is to give him a game or two to make him more valuable for sale in the summer. But this is a crucial time/match against a beatable opponent. Tuchel is certainly giving the cast-offs their opportunities.

Timo should’ve buried that. He can’t buy one. Alonso playing well.

Lol all he needed was a little ragging by Tigerdroppings. Offense looking crisp.

Really strong half. Lucky that Kepa has not touched the ball yet.

Good win. Solid defensively and many good opportunities on goal. Tuchel pressing the right buttons so far.

Tuchel revealed his thoughts regarding Pulisic with his first impression as shown in the original starting lineup in the first match of the year under his tutelage.

The lessons:
1) Tuchel was going to give his German boys first shot at the starting positions despite playing horrible all season. As a result, Tuchel is willing to play others out of position to allow his boys to work into form. In this way he will do exactly what Lampard did.
2) His shape doesn't necessarily work with Pulisic's game unless he is willing to bench his boy Werner or try Pulisic at the left wingback position
3) Bringing him (Pulisic)off the bench in game 1 was exactly where he saw him on this team - any other narrative is BS
4) Pulisic was the last to get a start amongst those competing for roles in the new set.

Pulisic has the quality - my 2 cents - go to a mid table club start everyday and kick arse. The "competing every day to start" story were sold at Chelsea is utter BS. Lampard and Tuchel did the exact same thing - to give their boys/country-men first chance

Pulisic has been pretty bad this season. Anybody who says otherwise is kidding themselves.

Agreed he has not been in the best of form - but the coaching has done nothing to help with that - i.e like playing him consistently in his best position. This has not been the case this year - Lampard refused to play Pulisic on the left to accommodate Werner. The farm was bet on Werner and everyone else had to adjust - that impacted Abraham, Giroud, Pulisic etc. - and as such led to a lack of team play. To that point Tuchel has also bet on Werner. However, his new shape is better suited to Werner and the roles therefore require different skill-sets not necessarily conducive to Pulisic or Ziyech's games. It wasn't a fluke that Pulisic dominated last 1/2 season - he was put in a role, played there consistently, and allowed to have the ball at his feet and make the plays. Lampard got away from that to accommodate Werner. Tuchel doesn't have that role in the shape he has moved forward with. For Pulisic - time to move on

CPs either getting hurt or underwhelming. the stretch of 7-9 games where he was world class is the outlier at this point.

2 goals and 1 asst in 1300 mins isnt gonna cut it. CHO and Ziyech have made more goal contributions in fewer mins.

He's had chances at LW and hasnt looked very good. he doesnt have the reputation that Werner has built to be given endless opportunities to impress. thats on him. he'll get more opportunities this year and needs to take them, cause with 3 yrs left at 150k/wk, hes not going anywhere unless the club want to take a massive loss.

When you start against Barnsley and are trying to prove your place, you have to turn up. He's gotta do what he did last year where he showed up as a super sub and earned his starting spot.
