Played there last Friday and it was still in terrible shape. The greens have weeds that have grown through them and I couldn't find hardly any of my balls that were hit around 10 yards off the fairway into the rough

Go watch 2004 US Open at Shinnecock.

I shite you not that is the kind of rough you are facing.

Its unplayable currently.

If you hit something offline its an automatic penalty because you will not find it.

If you miss the fairway you won't find your ball.

But $20 for 18-holes you can't really complain.

You can play Dumas or Webb for that and not lose a ball right off the fairway. You lose 10 balls, you're paying more than $20

No no you can for sure complain

I’m not dropping $20 for something that is unplayable.

I can go to Dumas or Webb and still find my ball.

How is Dumas these days? I know last summer it was making a comeback under new administration.

On a scale of 1 to Webb, how is it now?

Man that just sucks, no reason that course shouldn’t be in decent shape. The student course at Mizzou is always in decent shape and affordable. LSU has way more money than Mizzou I’m sure so excuse it shouldn’t be playable

Does the Athletic Department run the course? If so, I would think a lot of people would petition Woodward to spend some money on it. There is absolutely no reason for a school of LSU's stature athletically to be running a goat ranch.

I’ll echo what everyone has said but it’s beyond unplayable. They have just completely stopped giving a shite out there. All of the bunkers are rock hard and covered in weeds and grass, weeds growing up through the greens, the rough right off the fairway is just crab grass up to your shins, tee boxes overgrown. It’s really sad to see. They couldn’t pay me to play 18 there again.

When I got out of LSU, I didnt play golf.

I accepted a job in Dallas and I have never had the chance to play golf in the Baton Rouge area.

I have Played a lot in Lake Charles and some in the New Orleans area only.

Before when I come in for Football games, it was always in and out because of work and my wife being a teacher.

Now that I retired early, I had planned on coming in for a few games, to stay a few days and golfing somewhere.

That will have to wait now. Damn Virus...

Actually ended up at Dumas yesterday. It’s really not bad. There is goose shot everywhere but the greens are ok and the layout is kind of fun (it was my first time playing there). Way better then my last experience at LSU.
Webb may be a bit more manicured but Dumas is kinda cooler in my opinion.

Dumas is a great go-to for a cheap course that's never crowded. You can get $10-12 tee times on GolfNow with no problem.
