MAYBE, If you are 80 and debilitated. They need to see some of the after affects of young people who survive the regular flu that kills and debilitated way more young people than Covid ever has... This is all pure 100% bullshite and scare tactics.

wouldn't the players that have had COVID be struggling with workouts if playing was going to 'kill' them ?
Seems like a stretch to say the problem lies in playing a game vs other high impact activities.

Does myocarditis go away?
Usually, a mild case of myocarditis will go away without any lasting damage. Severe cases may not be diagnosed until you have the symptoms of heart failure. Even severe cases may go away without notice, but these severe cases usually cause ongoing and irreversible damage to the heart muscle.

Myocarditis is caused by the flu as well.

No it's not piss pants. My wife had a teenage patient die from Covid over the weekend. No comorbidity. A large percentage of kids they see test positive for COVID end up with inflamed coronary arteries. They have presented with that acutely and after 1-2 months.

Could you break down these numbers? I’d be interested to see.

Its just an excuse for the presidents to cancel the season without losing face.
THE REAL REASON is so they won't be held LIABLE for anything that happens to the student athletes if they do decide to play.

Why is this the first time this had been brought up? The mlb nba and nhl didn’t even consider this

not saying COVID is going to kill every NCAA athlete but these types of adverse effects have to be considered... but I guess you already have scientifically appraised all of the relevant data, so there really isn't much else for the medical and public health community to do.

He acknowledges that the cases in athletes with COVID-related heart impacts are very small. Among professional, college and youth league athletes, he’s seen no more than a dozen in the US
Wonderful reason to shut things down. Sounds familiar.

The Dr. cited in this article disagrees. Says he’s only seen it a dozen times in the US.

But what does it have to do with playing football? Are the athletes any more or less likely to catch COVID by playing?
My initial instinct would be to say they are less likely. Is there any study out there that shows the opposite?

Riots, protests , and casinos are allowed. This virus is very pro 1st amendment rights, unless it’s a Republican rally.

Distance runners, who had minor cases, are widely reporting that the virus seems to affect the body's ability to cool itself.

Brian Kelly and Notre Dame are and will be responsible for more student deaths than Covid 19.
