Wood-look Vinyl or Ceramic Tile

Looking to replace carpet in bedrooms and hallway with wood-look flooring.
I'm leaning towards vinyl because of the method of installation.
Anyone here researched vinyl and ceramic and what type did you get?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Depends on how much you want to spend. Tile plus thin set and labor will be almost double the cost of vinyl

I got my mother in law suite done in ceramic. It looks good but I don't like the floors being that hard.

The vinyl just seems cheap. i stayed in a rental house in florida where the vinyl was dented from the weight of a refrigerator. the sounds animals make when walking across is amplified and wears on the corners from heavy traffic. it’s useful for a rental, but tile is the best option.

We have vinyl in a camp and it looks good and was cheap. No idea how it would hold up to everyday use.

For cost reference I paid around $10k for around 900 sqft wood look tile installed. That included demo of 500 sqft of existing tile of tile and demo of 400 sqft of existing wood.
I quoted LVP to compare and it was around $2500 less.
I will say the tile has proven to be pretty much indestructible.

Thanks for the info and I'll probably go with the wood-look tile.
