Every so often, I quietly wonder if we're being subjected to some grand social experiment...,

I view myself as a moderate, not some hardcore conservative. I've voted Dem plenty of times since the 80's. frick it, I still haven't switched party registration, so technically I'm still a Dem.

I felt like after Obama's 2 terms, we needed a Republican in office, just to bump back towards the center.
As late as 2014, maybe early 2015 I'd have laughed in your face if you suggested Donald Trump would be the guy who emerged. And I'd have told you that if he did, it would hand the presidency over to the Dems, barring insane disaster.
We got insane disaster, in the form of BLM protests and cop killings, at absolutely the right time. Couple that in with Hillary (a person I detest) and fricking Commie Bernie as the candidates, he squeeked through.

Since he's been in office, he's impressed me with his production and solid policies, and he's gained my sympathy with the non-stop bull shite from the media. Yeah, he's a crude mofo, he's not a racist or Nazi. He's not some fundamentalist preacher telling "deviants" (Gays, Jews, Catholics, Muslims etc) they're all going to hell. His interaction with the press is uncivil, but his actual civil policies are about the most tolerant we've ever seen. His "attack on Muslims" was due to Middle East terrorists, where he was the only guy willing to say what everyone knew: you have to clamp down on letting people in from over there. His "attack on Mexicans" wasn't racist or anti-anything, it was stop the illegal immigration and favor/protect actual citizens of the US.

his 2016 margin was slim, he could have been vulnerable... if the Dems put a valid contender forward. Instead, they put out the worst group I've ever seen. Bloomberg, an a-hole, came in fairly late and looked decent in comparison, because the others were just laughable. Biden emerged, simply because he was maybe the least offensive of the bunch and had the most money... he can't even formulate coherent sentences. He makes Les Miles seem like a polished speaker.

Even if I WANTED to vote for someone other than Trump (and right now, I still want him for a second term), there's really been no option for going on 5 years. And the person they put up to oppose him makes it seem necessary for me to vote, because I can't begin to imagine either Hillary or Biden as the Prez.

The thing about the Democratic party not putting forth better candidates is that they don't have any... Because the whole party has lost it's mind during this process. For decades, both sides could put up some candidates that, to their voters, seemed well-spoken (GW, notwithstanding) or like decent people, with decent policies, until they got in office. Then came Trump, and he has flung open the proverbial curtain on the Wizard of Oz, and now all of the corrupt politicians on both sides are showing every ounce of who they really are to the world, because they know their freedom is on borrowed time, and they will do or say anything to shift the negative focus on Trump and his administration, to discredit them.

It's quite something to see. And yeah, Trump is crude... But he's honest with his intentions and he's got a lot of guts to put up with what he has. I don't know who else would have gone through this without folding their tent and going home. God has held that man up.

I admit I have been very worried Trump would lose in November, but with each passing day it seems like he is catching more and more momentum. At this point, I feel he is going to crush Biden by epic proportions and would be shocked if that didnt happen.

I hate how the media has treated him because I dont think they will ever stop and his place in history will never be told the way it should be told. He is not just a good President, but one of our greatest Presidents. If Mt Rushmore ever added another he should the one. He has faced obstacles that nobody would have ever thought possible yet he keeps plugging along and fighting for America. He is truly an American hero and because of the media most will never see the good he has done for our country. Breaks my heart legacy is being robbed from him.
