This is one reason health insurance will continue to sky rocket. If this is so great, why can’t I total my truck then go purchase a policy to replace it?

Why do stupid people use this example?

If you total your truck you can go and buy another truck.

If you die, you don't get another chance.

People are not vehicles.

Was I born with Multiple Sclerosis? Nope. Woke up blind one morning during the middle of exams at LSU. That was in ‘98. I could not get health insurance until the Covering of pre existing conditions Went through. Do you think that’s fair? Do you still want to compare it to a truck?

Really it’s a double edged sword. If you forego auto insurance it won’t affect your health. But if you forego health insurance because it’s out of your budget, you very well could die.

It’s a tough one understandably so, but I lean toward covering pre existing conditions but I also understand the financial implications of doing so. And you’re 100% correct with your totaling your truck analogy.

How does anybody downvote this? It is not "insurance".

Make rules that you can't be dropped if you are paid up and get sick.
