Never caught one..thinking about hitting Lake Borgne Saturday and just targeting them and nothing else. To try cross it off the list..Do I have a shot at one?
Always heard that...
August was peak season
Ride the traps
Look around well heads
Throw live shrimp under popping cork at them
Am I missing anything ?
*****update
Decided to push trip back to Tomorrow or Monday for reasons of wind and the Saturday crowds
Monday Aug 3
Rode what seemed like every trap in lake Borgne today at least a 1000 plus.. found one triple tail and successfully caught him! Trip was a success.. it was only 17 inches so it was a throw back but I’ve never had a better one fish day than today.

Caught a nice one in Anastasio in June while trout fishing. First one I ever saw and was able to get him to bite. Made my trip. Haven’t had many trips since then.

Usually you don't see the big ones. Sliding cork can be your best friend in that instance.

A guy on fishing Louisiana FB page just posted a triple tail caught today. Looks like he runs out of shell beach.
