he has bought into the narrative that this is a super dangerous disease. Yep, it's real, and it will push some people in bad health over the edge into death, and in rarer cases, will kill people. but we've been living with this much danger for lots of flu strains, other diseases, and have never shut down.
i'm not knocking coach O. no doubt he believes what he says. but if it's as dangerous as he thinks it is, no way we can play.

And you don't think that disease, which doesn't have a vaccine, isn't dangerous?
Is it an automatic killer? no.
But there is still a lot of unknown about it and that lack of knowledge and treatment, whether you want to accept it or not, makes it dangerous.

If most would have worn a mask, stop partying and going to the club we wouldn’t be in this situation. Y’all wanna scream about civil liberties being taken away about wearing a damn mask now you are complaining about the end result of your behavior, no football!!

at this time we know the mortality rate is very low, within the acceptable margin of diseases we have historically suffered from, that children dont' get it nor spread it, and that healthy people are "safe".
we also know that this fear response of shutting down will destroy us.
but we ain't going to have a football season. there ain't gonna be nothing that people enjoy in large groups. no restaurants, no movies, no amusement parks, no sports. Since Governor DeSantos in florida has a set of balls, you can take a vacation to the beach. that is all. and it ain't never gonna end.

Mortality rate doesn't mean anything.
The mortality rate for the flu is low as well, but if there was an outbreak of the flu and no vaccine to combat it, we wouldn't be having a football season either.

there are flu shots, but no real vaccines. the effective rate is way too low to qualify them as real vaccines.
this argument that if we had just worn masks and tightened down harder - how can anyone actually believe that? look at the world - as soon as we have our freedom back the virus starts spreading again. the response is to shut down again.
Point is - if they try to have a season, you know damn well some football player somewhere will test positive and then the dominoes will start falling with the quarantines and eventual shutdown. Does anyone doubt it?

No one really followed guidelines the first time. Nobody stayed home during quarantine. Everyone was in Lowe’s piled behind each other and 70% weren’t wearing masks. So don’t act like any of your civil liberties were ever infringed upon and don’t act like you were locked tight in your end of days bunker for 21 days

Bud, I can cite lots of scientific experts, as well as nurses and docs in the field, who will tell you masks don't work. even the evil fauci said so at one time. Dr. Russell Blaylock, neurosurgeon from Louisiana has said so.
this disease, I believe from the studies, is spread by human feces. you can't wipe your arse without getting shite on it, which you then spread all over the bathroom, which everyone touches. this explains why bars and family gatherings are huge transmission centers - everyone is using the same restroom. if we want to make the world safer, every public bathroom should be equipped with bidets, so you don't have to wipe.
when the virus continues to spread even with all the mask wearing, you know what they will say. they won't say, you know, you can't stop a virus that has a long incubation period and is transmissible for the 40 to 50 5 of people who have no symptoms. no, they'll say, and so will you, that we didn't try hard enough, we need more draconian measures.
I can't believe how scared healthy people are.
