Looking for a place to get crickets and shiners tommorrow morning. Somewhere reasonably close to interstate 12 if possible Between Covington and the Henderson public boat launch by the Atchafalaya welcome center. Any help would be appreciated.

Don’t know about Henderson but everyone’s been slaying the sacs further south in the spillways with popsicle jigs.

Not quite where you're wanting but Bayou Adventure in Lacombe on 190 has crickets.

You would have to educate a novice. For the most part all I’ve ever fished is inshore saltwater. I’m definitely still trying to learn the basin and how to catch crappie in general. The only placed I’ve fished in that area is Lake Pelba.

Spillway Sportsman in Brusly has them...
I've heard there is a small store just past the landing at the Atchafalaya Welcome Center that carries them but can not confirm...

Spillway on LA Hwy 1. They have good breakfast also. And 20lb bags of ice.

The little store in Butte LaRose has crickets. About a 10 minute drive from the launch you are talking about.

L and L bait shop in Ramah. Also, decent burger and fries as well. Some fishing tackle and few groceries.
