My mother (black woman) is a professional natural childbirth instructor.

The cold truth is black women are disproportionately unhealthy before/during pregnancy. This puts them behind the 8 ball from jump street.

Now look a rates of uncontrolled diabetes (huge risk in pregnancy) and prenatal care.

It’s not a mystery.
