More testing, more testing...!

While driving home yesterday and listening to the local Baton Rouge radio station, I heard the same commercial for Covid testing multiple times. They were promoting extensive testing that would be available in numerous places, including Alex Box Stadium.
There seems to be an all out concerted effort to accelerate testing, and in turn, drive up the Covid positive numbers.
What is it’s goal?
Are they trying to make the numbers so high that a national mandatory mask policy is put in place? Or, are they looking to justify a second wave of shut downs or delay business openings?
It all seems counterproductive.

You realize that positive tests do, in fact, mean that someone actually tested positive for coronavirus right?

Higher positive test numbers decrease the mortality percentage/rate?

And if you are positive with no symptoms, then what? Lock yourself up?

Knowing you have it means you can stay away from those most at risk. Testing isn’t bad. It’s the incorrect decisions made due to the total case numbers that is

Except, people like Fauci, Democrat Governors and the media are already using the rise in positive Covid test to push for a roll back in business openings and continued school closures. I fear it’s more politically motivated than health related.

Positives is a number that varies with # of test performed. Fake News likes to mislead with this.
Number of hospitalizations is more accurate. And # of deaths is the most important number.
Fake news is not reporting number of deaths because it’s falling!
This doesn’t promote their hurt the Orange Man Bad kill the economy agenda.

Avoiding all of that really isn’t that hard.

Florida has done a total of 2 million testing.
They did 400,000k test alone in June.
Just think about how rapid that is and it's only going up.
Louisiana has almost tested 1/4 of its population.

There is only one reasonable reaction to covid-19 or any virus. At-risk people need to protect themselves as they do for other illnesses, while everyone else, the 99.9% of us, continue a normal life. Let the virus spread as it will to achieve herd immunity. This is how viruses have always been handled, except today this virus is used ans an excuse to attack America and hurt President Trump's re-election.

I’d be fine with this, but since state Governors control the particulars and there is no national mandate, this won’t be achieved.

And these governors should be held accountable. I know I'm voting against our idiot governor in NC.

No one the Left is ever held accountable for anything. So I wouldn’t hold your breath.

A positive test is still a positive test.
The issue here is we have people on both side who are misusing this information. The fact that the massive amounts of testing we’re doing is leading to a higher number of positives doesn’t necessarily mean that it was going away and is now making a come back.
What it most likely means is that the amount of cases was always there. The fact that the hospitalizations and deaths haven’t risen while the cases have skyrocketed allude to that.
But like I said....just don’t be an idiot and you’ll be fine. Wash your shite regularly. Quit being such a fricking snowflake and wear a mask from time to time.

I thought this was how an immunity was built into the populace. We know the death rate has decreased substantially so it seems the more people getting the virus and recovering from it is not necessarily a bad thing is it not?
