AnyCubic i3 Mega S has been awesome out of the box for me. Easy to level the bed and set up OctoPrint with a Raspberry Pi. $204 shipped.

I would stay away from BLTouch for now. Just get the printer and learn how to level it yourself. It's better to learn your machine in my opinion. Bed leveling isn't hard.
bed leveling is really hard when your bed isnt flat, like a bunch of enders. Octo print and bltouch were the best upgrade i did.

I'm sure it's a good machine, but I did notice it has a smaller print volume.

Thanks. Seems like everything I look into has warped beds and just a lot of problems. I'm sure it's only those having problems posting online, but it makes it seems as though every machine is trash.

Fair enough, I was just suggesting to start without it to get the experience of bed leveling lol. It's fir the troubleshooting experience haha

No. Cheap machines (sub $800) are not perfect. You can get a plate that is flat for the Ender. Some people add an aluminum plate to the top of theirs. Some add glass but in my experience glass takes forever to heat up. But that's just my opinion. So if you do buy a sub $800 printer you will more than likely have to "upgrade the bed" to a more flat piece. And you won't need any auto leveling if you have a super flat plate. All the machines that I built had 1/4" aluminum plate. I never worried about an unlevel bed. But that's a thick arse plate.

Definitely not mine, but I’d love to make one.

I did a ton of digging and went with the Anycubic Vyper.

It seems to check all the boxes of what I hoped for. I'll pop in here when it arrives for help and/or to share my successes.

I got some PLA coming. Anything else to grab? I am a true noob in this game!

Just learn!
Have fun!
And ask questions!

I have been in the 3d printing world since 2012. I used to manufacture and sell my own machines. I can't answer everything but I will answer what I can.

If you have 3d modeling questions feel free to ask those as well. Because that was the bigger challenge to me when I started. 3D modeling for 3d printing.

The only issue I have with my mega s is the rod the extruder slides on has a bit of a sag towards the middle. This makes printing large parts (corner to corner) difficult. Still a great machine though.

I picked mine up from facebook marketplace for that price with about 10 boxes of unopened filament.

Thank you guys! Very excited!

Especially the reviews about how well the auto leveling works. That was my biggest concern was trying to deal with leveling and warped bed issues.

From why I've learned, the Vyper is basically the Ender 3 but with all the right upgrades to make it legit right out the box.

Hatchbox is fine for PLA. I don't like their ABS.

I've been enjoying Spidermaker PLA+

I also use Prusa PETG and Fillamentum ABS/ASA/PETG/PLA as well and recommend them.

Best recommendations though is to find someone using the same machine that is producing great prints and shares their profile. Try what they are doing.
