Anyone want to place a bet on this making the headlines on Good Morning America or The View tomorrow morning?

Sounds like a VP candidate trying to appeal to moderate Dem voters....if there’s any left

Here are some more quotes from the mayor. Maybe people are finally waking up to the reality of the situation.

quote:

“Enough is enough," Bottoms said. "Enough is enough. We have talked about this movement that's happening across America and this moment in time when we have the ears and the interests of people across this country and across this globe who are saying they want to see change. But the difference in this moment in time with the civil rights movement -- the civil rights movement, there was a defined, common enemy. We're fighting the enemy within when we are shooting each other up on our streets."

She continued: "You shot and killed a baby. And there wasn’t just one shooter; there were at least two shooters. An eight-year-old baby. If you want people to take us seriously, and you don't want us to lose this movement, then we can't lose each other."

"It has to stop," Bottoms added, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. "You can't blame this on police officers. It's about people who shot a baby in a car. We're doing each other more harm than any officer on this force."

They just showed a portion of the Mayor’s Speech on the opening of the Today Show. I am absolutely shocked.

That is 12 more murders than last year's July 4th weekend and the exact same wounded.

With enough practice, they're hitting their targets in kill zone places?

The system made them do this.

Yes. It will take a generation at least before the removed statues start having the positive impact we all expect.

You'll reach your goal faster if you also carry Chrysler 200/300's.

14 people shot overnight on the 200 block of Auburn Ave and Edgewood. A fight broke out as big crowds watched fireworks and a car doing donuts in the street. A car hit someone which led to the fight.

Wait, let me guess....

yep.

I mean its a lot easier to do with a gun. Don't be naive.

Damn... Edgewood Avenue has one of the best bar scenes in the city. Sucks this is what goes on when most are closed.

Also, major props to Mayor Bottoms. When stuff like this happens, it cheapens the BLM movement. Not because it takes away from the truth of some true racial inequalities, but because it moves the spotlight to portray the simple fact of, "why should we care, if they don't?"

To be fair, stupid white on white crime happens too. How many times have we posted articles about Cletus shooting Bubba over the Iron Bowl?
