Simply enough, he owned slaves.
Now I think You have to take in what he did as a whole and I have A great appreciation for him as a leader in America.
I thinj He is one of those figures where you have to weigh the good with the bad.
Our nation was founded on the great ideals of imperfect men. Life Liberty and the pursuit of happiness and the Bill of Rights is the basis of our nation, but we can’t forget that those freedoms and liberties didn’t apply to everyone

No. You have to start looking honestly through the lens of history and context of the times.. we can’t look back these figures and weigh them based on legal ownership of slaves. Was it wrong...yes , but it was part of the world, one in which slaves were common place.. One where they were sold and bought by Africans and African Americans.. a world where the ethnicity of many cultures were trampled upon by Anglos of British decent..

So tell us all why the ratification was held up over slave vote? Who was not allowing them to be counted as a full vote? Just asking.
