We now have 4 WDE so unless someone is gonna convert to an OLB or something this seems like bad news to me regarding Foreman

Guys like Naquan brown and I believe Carter are going to play LB. It’s better to get athletic guys to fill out all your positions... get the best athlete/ player on the field.

Also foreman is not not going somewhere because of the roster. He’s the fricking #1 player.

So where does Penn fit in, I mean thats 3 LBs? And wouldn't that put one of Naquon or Keanu behind Raesjon?

I think taking 4 LBers is about what we need. Cox will 100% be gone next year. If demone Clark has a good year, he’s probably gone. Listening to coach O it doesn’t sound like any name stands out besides those guys with Marcel transferring.

Then again brown or Koht could absolutely transition into a DE if there is no playing time at LB.

Foreman at his size is more of a SDE. I think Brown is viewed more as a LBer. Koht is more of a WDE that will be around 230-235 playing weight, brought in during pass rush situations. Foreman, Jackson, and Jones would be your every down DEs

Don’t think this would scare him away or stop us from recruiting him

Think Hybrid and how many directions so may DE / LB / Nickle / Safeties can go. So many roles in multiple schemes, so many opportunities.

No. The plan is falling right in at DE. Foreman is the last piece.

Brown is a LB unless he grows. Koht is a DE all the way. WDE. Carter is similar to Brown. Depends how his body develops. Jones could go either way. Big WDE or supremely athletic SDE. Jackson could go either way as well. We coming!

Has nothing to do with Foreman. Foreman is a take if he wants aboard. They'd make room for him. Koht projects more as a WDE or OLB. Foreman projects as a SDE or possibly a candidate to move inside should he put on the weight.

People also need to remember that the days of keeping the same 11 on the field the entire game are gone. With how fast the offense scores will be rotating defensive players every series or every other series at most. We could possibly see 10 D lineman rotating every game.

I think Carter will probably grow into a down lineman

The staff has known this for a month. I'm sure they have taken all this into account.

Foreman is a SDE which I assume to be more of a DE than OLB. The WDE/OLBs will have to play in space where the SDE will play in/on the wall.

Anyone feel free to correct me as I am no expert.

I think that the staffs thoughts that one o the or Brown will. That smaller, Mingo-ish type that is a demon, specialized pass rusher.
Way I see it working in the end, Foreman, Jones, Jackson, interchangeable. Koht and one of Brown/ Carter at WDE. Brown/Carter, Davis and Penn at LB. 3 S minimum, at least one top corner, Smith, Hundley/someone better at DT and our defense is set on paper.

Yep. Pretty much agree with everything you wrote
I'm super interested in who will pop next in the secondary, besides sage Ryan
He isn't even a question
