The Black National Anthem is about God

For years many of you have bitched about the secularization of our society. “Where is God in public events?” you asked. You howled with glee when Tebow prayed in the end zone as you held up your “John 3:16” placards.
Now the NFL wants to play a song ABOUT GOD, and you are losing your damn minds.
What in the actual frick?

Then call it the God song, not the black national anthem

astounding LEVEL OF STUPID
"it's a song about God though"
"you think God cares about having a song?"
WOW. and you think you have even made a point?

Let people decide for themselves if it is about "God"
quote:
Lift ev'ry voice and sing
'Til earth and heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the list'ning skies
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun
Let us march on 'til victory is won
Stony the road we trod
Bitter the chastening rod
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died
Yet with a steady beat
Have not our weary feet
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered
Out from the gloomy past
'Til now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast
God of our weary years
God of our silent tears
Thou who has brought us thus far on the way
Thou who has by Thy might
Led us into the light
Keep us forever in the path, we pray
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee
Lest, our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee
Shadowed beneath Thy hand
May we forever stand
True to our God
True to our native land

The NFL wants to play a song about God for the purpose of promoting one race while the country is in the middle of a “conversation” about how whiteness needs to be deconstructed and changed.
You don’t see how conservative white people have a problem with this?

I haven’t kept up with this Black National Anthem nonsense, but If it’s anything other than an a cappella version of Gin n Juice, I’m going to be very disappointed.

The problem isn’t the lyrics, or even the song.
The problem is that is is racially specific and America is not the land of blacks. It’s the land of AMERICANS, ALL Americans, and so when you bring racial preference into a public event like football you drive a racial divide amongst people who don’t share in it. It’s not a song for all. It’s a song only for 13 percent of ALL of us.

Yeah. I used nouns and verbs in agreement. There was a premise and a conclusion. Give it a shot sometime.

You can’t sing
True to our God
And true to our Native land
because it’s too black?

Seeing a left winger invoke God to try to make a point is both hilarious and sickening at the same time. Take that bullshite and a big pile of sand and pound it right up your arse.

Really. So that whole “love your neighbor as yourself” and Good Samaritan parable (a racial story) were all just subterfuge?
