I voted democrat in every election in my life and had full on TDS for a while during this admin. What changed was the Mueller report. I had been lead to believe by the democrats and other liberals that we were on the verge of the greatest political scandal in US history and it resulted in nothing. It was a farce and a lie. I had imagined that Trump and his supporters were all paranoid fools for saying that a deep state existed and that it was going to try and take him down. They were right, it exists and with Mueller, then the Ukraine impeachment and now the Russia bounty "scandal" they've shown that they exist and are doing everything to maintain control of the country. They see the common voter as the enemy.

I started to look at Trump and realize that while his personality isn't exactly pleasant, in terms of governance he's been good to the working and middle class, wants to end pointless wars and regime change and cares about not having an open border. The way the DC establishment and media has gone after him for having the audacity to speak the truth about various taboos is disturbing to me. The democrats and the media have become a party that wants me to not believe what I see with my own eyes. "There aren't that many immigrants here and even if there are they're good people who do not take away jobs and don't drive down wages" "The Covid virus is spreading because of white families going to restaurants and not black and woke white kids grouping by the thousand to set fires" "free healthcare can be achieved without raising middle class and working class taxes" "the way to deal with rising temperatures is to implement policies that just happen to target our political enemies."

There's more to it but that's the general thought process. I know I'll get downvoted for even admitting being a dem but I wanted to give you an honest answer to an honest question.
