If schools want to have CFB they need to get out in front of the narrative right now and make a big show about allowing any player who wants to to opt out of playing and keep their scholarship. Allowing the player to take only online classes if they want.

I guarantee almost all of the players, coaches, and even administrators want to play. They just need to be smart enough to get in front of the blue check mark narrative that the unpaid, predominantly AA, players are being forced to put themselves at risk while the regular, predominantly white, students get to stay home.

Just to be clear, I don’t think that’s the situation at all. I think the vast majority of athletes want to play and can play without it being a big deal. I think students can and want to be on campus. But you know the sky screamers will run with that narrative unless you get in front of it

If college football is cancelled, numerous towns in this country are going to never recover economically

Saturdays in the fall are the lifeblood of stores, restaurants, servers, shopowners in areas like Ann Arbor, Madison, Auburn, areas of BR, etc

Hundreds of millions of dollars in lost tips and revenue

A disaster

You know all those little diners that are institutions for specific schools
(Mickey’s dairy bar in Madison for example) that espn analysts visit while covering a game and do a little special on it......those places will not survive if there is no cfb

Probably, but now USC football players can live on campus with few non-athletes around. It will be far easier to have social distancing and there will be few distractions.

Could be a model for other west coast schools this fall.
