Looking for “farm ducks” (Covington)

I have a female Swedish black. I am looking for some companions for her. Right now, she has some whistling tree ducks for company, but come fall, she will need another duck of two to hang with (they are social animals).
Another Swedish (blue or black), a Peking, or a Khaki Campbell would also work. I am trying to avoid online ordering due to the high shipping costs.
Any info would be appreciated.

I can’t help you but am interested in this farm duck thing. So you buy a duck and it doesn’t fly away? Are it’s wings clipped or do you buy it as a baby and raise it there so it doesn’t want to leave? I have some friends that live on a river in the area and was just curious if they could have ducks on the property as well.

Louisiana market bulletin
Market Bulletin, put out bi-monthly by department of Ag.
The classifieds are great for anything "Farm" related.

That I did but they didn’t have any. Thank you for the suggestion though. I also checked with O’keefes and Marsolans.

I live on a ditch pond with a creek on the other side so if she wanted to bolt, she easily could. The ducks I listed above probably can’t “fly” because they are too heavy (They flap, but typically don’t or can’t fly). In short, if you are feeding them (corn or cracked corn for me), then they aren’t going anywhere. The Swedish black / blue females have a great disposition. Additionally, the cold weather doesn’t really bother them much. Good luck!

Good call grand and thanks for the link Brett. I didn’t know about this. Unfortunately, I only saw Muscovy ducks listed. I will check it out again next month.

you also could ride up to Folsom and look around.
seems like there were a few pekin breeders up there but it’s been a while

Post an ad on Craigslist that you’re looking for ducks and someone will likely donate them for free lol

I have 7 mallards that I can let go. We hatched them at our place. ~3months old.

Have 4 Pekin ducks that are not quite fully grown, we raised. Free if it's a good home
