quote:The article I saw was late March so I would think that would have continued to be the consensus through April. Likely not still relevant, since we have been on a roller coaster of late.
Wouldn’t we continue to be or was that line of thinking over in March?

Yes. On the downward part of the ride. Just like Farr’s law tells us to expect.

The death rate is somewhere between .3-.5 %. If the weather forecast calls for a .3% chance of rain, are you carrying an umbrella outside?
The narrative behind this virus has been ridiculous.

Which makes it hard for me to understand how/why conservatives shrunk from the moment. Yes, the Left cynically okayed a virus, but that’s what Lefties do, especially in an election year. But why did the Right bend over for them?

Fear won over facts.

Nailed it. It's here and here to stay. The only 100% defense is immunity. And living a full, economically productive life. Any vaccine is likely to be 50/60% effective at most. So use safe practices and go on living, working and not in fear. Anything else like shutting down is insanity. And is sure to cause far more damage than any feel good, I'm doing something nonsense.
We are threatening to turn the greatest nation in the world into a third world over a virus? Incredibly true.

After the election, we will never hear about the flu season again

Well there's two really big reasons for this, there's the good news that Hospitals are just getting better at treating covid-19, especially since we stopped barking up the wrong tree with hydroxychloroquine and stopped wasting time with it, and focused on better treatments such as remdesivir. And two there's a lag between covid-19 being diagnosed and deaths supposedly there's a 2-3 weeks lag of a person being in a hospital and death. And this is with hospital beds being barely sufficient. With states like Texas and Florida seeing huge spikes in cases, let's see how everything pans out before we start congratulating everybody how this a nothing burger.
