At what age did you start teaching you child how to play?
My LO is three and I would like to get her to start young but I’m thinking three is a bit early. This is also my motivation to start playing again after a very long time.
I just ordered her a golf toy set to see if she likes it. Been practicing T-ball with her for about a year now. She smashes the ball and loves doing it so I’m thinking she will like this too.

Start small. I got my three old the little tikes golf set and he messed around with them quite often. Let them get interested then start helping them learn more.

I’ve got nothing.
Neither of my kids ever caught the bug.
My son will hit some Putt, range balls and walk 9 with me.
My daughter, no interest.

Recently figured out what LO meant. I’m down with it.

Both my girls just won the DC local tour over the weekend - my 9 year old is now 4x player of the year and my 11 year old just won a very competitive age group for the first time (first time she finished ahead of a girl consistently in the top 10 in the world)... honestly the best thing to do before age 5 is tae Kwan do - I’ve discussed this with many parents of the top kids - and what I discovered was nearly all of them had their kid in Tae Kwan Do prior to age 5 - in order to move up the belts - you need to master these forms which are basically ways of holding positions and memorizing muscle movements - which can absolutely be applied to golf... at age 5/6 lessons can be great but the key thing is NEVER sign up for group golf lessons - they are worthless - pay a bit more for individual lessons (Less than an hour each) from a pro with a good reputation- if I can help further please let me know - good luck

A buddy of mine, who used to coach college golf, told me 3 is too young when I asked about my kid. I take him with me and play until he gets bored or hot (our record is 9). Let him putt and hit when it gets backed up.
