Finally tried the Popeyes sandwich a year after the hype

I regret to report that it is painfully average. Was merely a fried tender slapped between two soggy buns with some mayo and a pickle in between. Not worth the eye roll/sassy attitude and slow service I received from the ladies behind the counter.

Id like to go to a Popeyes, i live in the north, but they are always shut down for health violations

When the Popeye’s chicken sandwich debuted, it deserved the hype. It was amazing accomplishment. I tried to recapture the magic by having one a few weeks back, and can say the bloom is off the rose. Chicken was about half the size it used to be, wasn’t crispy, and the bun was a cross between soggy and stale.
That being said, it was still better than any other fast food chicken sandwich.

Its not a tender. Makes me think you didnt try it and am trying to make your restaurant next door look better.
