NASCAR said it is investigating after a noose was found in the garage of black driver Bubba Wallace on Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama.
"Late this afternoon, NASCAR was made aware that a noose was found in the garage stall of the 43 team. We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough how seriously we take this heinous act," NASCAR said in a statement. "We have launched an immediate investigation, and will do everything we can to identify the person(s) responsible and eliminate them from the sport.
"As we have stated unequivocally, there is no place for racism in NASCAR, and this act only strengthens our resolve to make the sport open and welcoming to all."

So some backwoods was able to sneak into a racer's garage and all he did was hang a noose?

My initial prediction is this is some sort of false flag.
Sorry, but things like this have happened way too much in past few years that have turned out to be carried out by someone "trying to start a conversation".

In related news , Lebron James and Jesse Smollet were sighted at an area IHOP sharing a plate of pancakes Sunday...

I agree, on first thought.
If not, of course, it's a gutless act.

That and that area is basically limited to team members, track personnel, and medical staff. So it shouldn’t be hard to figure out who it was.

Bleach! Oh, the bleach that was involved. Poor Bubba.

yea in all likelihood this was yet another inside job as usual.
Bubba Wallace has soared in popularity over the last few weeks in the news. his social media following jumped to well over 250,000 followers on both Instagram and Twitter each. unless you followed NASCAR (which is at all time lows in popularity) next to no one knew who he was until three weeks ago.
anything is possible of course, but this sounds way too Juicy Smollet.

God dammit
The sport doesn’t need this kind of shite ever but certainly not right now
I just hope to high heavens they catch whoever did it

While I don’t agree with everything Bubba says I have a lot of respect for him and he is by all accounts is a good guy. This may be a false flag but I’d be absolutely floored if he was behind it
This also will damage the sport and Bubba loves the sport so yet another reason it wouldn’t make sense

By then it’ll be forgotten and if it is a confirmed false flag, it won’t be reported on extensively

look at the bigger picture though. NASCAR's popularity is about one level above curling and corn-hole now. advertising and sponsorship revenue are at all time lows (in the modern era), live attendance is terrible at most tracks, etc. the drivers aren't making anywhere near what the used to make in salary.
you don't think there isn't a better time than now for Wallace and his management team to capitalize on what's going on right now? they're taking a page out of Kaepernick's book and running with it. there will be far more money in that racket than there will be in his NASCAR career.
