I think its 708 because the actual station number is Channel 8 in N.O.
Its just the cable number is 9.

Just wish Comcast would give me CBS HD.

Cox wants to charge Charter close to 125% for them to show CSN and is not budging on the number which is fricking retarded. If they did that they Charter would have to raise the rates to make up for the money lost. Also CSN sucks arse. All they do is replay ESPN news and is a worthless channel.

You're not missing much, CBS and NBC HD broadcasts are crap compared to FOX, ABC, ESPN

No, the networks broadcast an HD signal just like they do with an SD signal. Standard rabbit ears wont pick up the HD signal though, you need an HD antenna. 20 bucks at radio shack.

I got one of those when I got my big screen in 2005. Worked great and was easy to hook up.
Most newer directv/cox boxes have a spot for an HD antenna. Just plug it in there and you should be able to pick up the HD channels.
