Was this racist too? Glad McElwain is gone.

Are we going to talk about the cameraman mouth breathing into the microphone the whole time?

Gundy showed him the list of all the guys he can offer Hubbard’s scholly to and Hubbard’s plummeting draft stock if he leaves a Power 5 school
It’s almost like some of these kids don’t always think these things through and don’t understand the ramifications

Gundy should’ve cut him right then and there.

Hubbard could’ve then showed him a list of every other power 5 school in the country, all of which that gladly would’ve taken him in as a transfer, and the NCAA would’ve almost certainly granted him immediate eligibility given the precedent they’ve set in the past few years

“My coach wore a shirt I didn’t like”
Yeah good luck with that NCAA waiver I’m sure they’ll get right on it

Justin Fields had no problem, and in this climate, if this had been a direct result of this incident, the NCAA without a doubt would’ve waived it. You’re being silly if you think otherwise.
The people that think that Mike Gundy holds Hubbards career in his hands are living in a fantasy world

Do you support the tshirt outrage ?
Posted on 6/15/20 at 8:58 pm to wildtigercat93
You seem to be defending the outcry over a fricking shirt. What a weird hill to die on.

Simply trying to inject some reality into how the leverage actually falls in this situation
Posted on 6/15/20 at 9:00 pm to wildtigercat93
Yeah you are acting like this player’s faux outrage is grounds for immediate transfer. Ridiculous.

Given prior precedent, yeah

Right. I realize you’re playing the “well actually” card.

What does that have to do with anything I’ve posted

You seem to be the expert here. I was just asking your opinion.

Yeah I’m not getting derailed on that track.
I simply responded to the weird wet dream a few have in here about a world where Gundy takes away hubbards scholarship and he never plays football again
In reality, given what we’ve seen the NCAA do in the past, and how crazy things have turned the past month or so, and given how talented and productive he is, if that scenario were to happen, he would be suiting up for another P5 program by the fall and his draft stock wouldn’t be effected in the least, like it or not. Teams have taken in guys with actual violent felonies with less talent than him, a twitter scrap with another coach isn’t stopping anyone from taking him ASAP. And from the NFLs standpoint, his only real drawback is the position he plays. And again the NCAA has clearly set a precedent for an automatic waiver and would want no part of the bad PR from stopping it, regardless of how fair or unfair you may feel it is
Luckily, it seems both are reasonable parties and saw that the easiest solution was to make
amends, with Gundy stated he understands how sensitive the issue is and they are making plans to change and Hubbard admitting he went about it the wrong way, that way Gundy doesn’t lose his best player, and a Hubbard doesn’t have to deal with that fall out and lose what I’m sure he feels is a potentially successful last season at Oklahoma state
