I think they should be left alone, but like someone said, if you want to build some very powerful PACs, go ahead and tax churches.

The Southern Baptist Convention brought in $10 billion last year and did not spend a penny promoting a political candidate.

No churches should be taxed. That is God's money.

They aren't exactly the same as the regular 50 to 200 member churchesthat everyone grew up in. There bringing in Millions of dollars, shouldn't they be taxed?

If they are abiding by the non-profit statutes, of course not.

If you would like to create millions of new PACs that can legally donate money to politicians and advocate for political causes from the pulpit, go ahead with this thought process.
I would also counter taxation of churches with the taxation of PACs and all other political bodies, the DNC and the RNC. Many anti-church exemption folks have politics as their chosen religion anyway.

No. The size doesn't matter.

So,,, you think a church having "millions" is too much money. But government takes TRILLIONS by force... and you think they should get more?

Churches do more good with their money than any politician to ever serve in Louisiana.

Churches are starting schools, feeding, sheltering, and giving medicine to the poor around the world. Why would we tax that?

Don't judge the entire Christian race by a few pastor's stealing gods money for new airplanes.
