It was a part of Calcasieu until after the Civil War

This is actually a very good question. Most of the confederate statues were put up after 1900 by the white league and other such racists organizations..

I think it was part of another parish. Maybe Acadia or Calcasieu?

It was part of st Landry and calcasieu
