Played at LaTour on Saturday. 1st time at this course for me - I played like crap but the course was in real good shape.

Greens were very nice

I’ve been trying to get out there again. It’s a really fine design and man oh man if that wind picks up it is a monster of a golf course. Played the tips 2 years ago with a 25-30 mph wind. Shot 38 on the front and a beautiful 44 on the back. But that’s golf.

I played it a couple weeks ago and thought it was in good shape. Greens rolled true but were a little on the slow side from what I was expecting. Still very good greens though. Wind was blowing 15-20 mph so it wasn't easy, it was the first time I played it in a couple of years. I thought they had a few too many blind tee shots, it wasn't clear where to land it

Guy in the group I was playing w/ said the greens were the slowest he'd ever seen them. Said it was probably for the best w/ Cristobal winds hitting us.

Not being familiar w/ the lines off the tee got to me also

Which holes could you not tell where to land it? It’s a wide open bombers golf course and yes the greens suck at the moment and have for a few months, grainy and slow.

Hole 10 & 12 got me - I didn't realize how much space away from the fairway bunkers there was.

I also got in trouble going for # 7 in 2 and missed it left - short sided it behind the bunker

I could see a lower score next time I play it being more familiar w/ the lines off the tee & making sure to keep it short on the par 5s.

I'd play it again for sure

I don't remember the exact holes but it seems like they were early on the back 9, but I just remember thinking they had a couple with fairway bunkers pretty short and out of play that really only obscured your view if you were playing the proper tees.

A couple holes fed into hazards that aren't visible from the tee, but obviously I could have figured that out with a yardage book

I was just curious, I’ve played there since it opened and I’d agree you need to know where to miss, also if 1 is downwind I find the course 3-5 shots tougher.

This. #5 is a bitch of a par 4 into the wind.

Do NOT show up with your golf shoes on, they frown upon it. Wait until you get to the locker room. Your name will be on your locker, nice touch. Clubhouse is sick. Enjoy Baw!

Buy a yardage book or use an app for the layout. Otherwise you'll cost yourself multiple strokes. The par 5s are mostly gettable if you drive it well (it seems like they almost all played downwind when I was there). The rough wasn't very penal so you can basically hit it all over (might've grown in with warmer temperatures). The greens look faster than they are. It's a pretty gettable course that you can score well on. It's a nice course at a good price, enjoy

ETA: I got rained out after 16 so I'm not sure about 17 or 18
