People have already gotten over the shock of not having sports. If they make a big statement that isn’t popular with most fans who is to say those fans don’t just continue with life the way it has been for the last 3 months?

The overwhelming majority of people aren’t racist.

People are tired of being lectured for things they don’t do or condone.

Sports have always been an escape from politics for many people. That has changed.

Middle class working folk didnt like the disrespect of the flag in 2017, they still don't like it in 2020

Proof your point with disrespectful gestures to those who died for their right to make millions playing a stupid game

But they've been without football for the same amount of time they're usually without football

Unless you follow college spring ball

They crossed the Rubicon a while back. It’s a shitty product now just like every other endeavor that gets over corporatized and politicized

You aren’t listening.

It doesn’t matter what a great person you are as long as there is one white person out there who doesn’t bend the knee.

Read In another thread that some of the powers that be may be trying to end the NFL. Maybe so. They are not blind to the fact of what you mention. And you are spot on. Still they are all in.

Edit
Keep in mind there are some evil arse people that want every aspect of life in this county to change.

Corporate sponsors.

They can put butts in seats for every game.

I got a feeling they are about to take a huge financial hit and hockey is going to get a surge of new viewers and fans...

I think/hope that it's too late and enough people really avoid their product. They deserve to suffer the consequences...especially the players.

I’m saying the idea of “not having sports” was never even contemplated by most people before this.

If you asked most people what they would do if sports just disappeared, they probably would have said something dramatic like they couldn’t bare to live.

People now realize they didn’t have sports and are doing just fine. These are uncharted waters.

They know people are generally weak minded and won’t stand up for their beliefs to the point where they stop watching. 10 people say they won’t watch, 1 person doesn’t watch. That’s a sacrifice they’re probably willing to take.

I think they fricked up this time, this is not some strike fighting over money and CBA's that denied fans games, this is attacking people's beliefs and judging and labeling them racist just by the color of their skin...that is what the NFL and the players are doing...

Corporate sponsors only care about sports for the advertising value. If nobody is watching at home, those sponsors go away.

I’d rather they remove the anthem from the NFL game at this point.
