Would you have your picture taken, while in full dress uniform, with "I can't breath" written on some black tape stuck over your mouth?

edit; white guy in form of protest

Not supposed to make political statements in uniform.

Shouldn't be at a political rally/riot in uniform.

Every service member, let alone branch knows that’s wrong.

We were all recently reminded when the Female reserve airman decided to take a photo while breast feeding in uniform to be used in an article. We were either drawn to it as a reminder that it’s not appropriate to use your uniform for your social beliefs or because we wanted to see her tits. She was cute don’t get me wrong

That's obviously part of the protest.

Each branch has these as well as what is in the UCMJ:

Marine Corps Order 5370.7B., Subj: Political Activities.

Some General Principles

Rallies, Town Halls, and Meetings.
You CAN attend a political rally or event as a spectator. You CANNOT wear your uniform to the rally. You CANNOT speak in front of the rally.

Talking on the radio/TV or at a program/group discussion. You CAN express your personal opinion when interviewed by the press, unless in uniform. You CANNOT tell the press that you represent the armed forces.

Petition.
You CAN sign a petition. You CANNOT claim to represent the military when signing a petition.

Contributions.
You CAN make monetary - not time - contributions to a political organization, party, or committee favoring a particular candidate or slate of candidates, subject to the limitations of law..

Fundraisers.
You CAN attend a political dinner or similar fundraiser, but NOT in uniform. You CANNOT sell tickets for, or otherwise actively promote, the dinner or similar fundraising events.

Voting Day.
You CANNOT conduct a political opinion survey under the auspices of a partisan political club or group or distribute partisan political literature. You CANNOT perform clerical or other duties for a partisan political committee or candidate during a campaign, on an election day, or after an election day during the process of closing out a campaign.

There’s also a general DoD directive that covers all branches. Hope he enjoyed his protest.

Thank you, all around. I had just tuned the channel and bang there he was, a close up head shot, and the reporter was just finishing reporting it. The duct tape "looked" photoshop to me. I found it..., iritating

Served 8 years in the 90’s. Hell no. Not by choice. And for fear of repercussions for pulling some shite like that in uniform.

Pretty sure dude was already out of the marines. Not sure what the rules on that are. If I could find my dress blues I would stand next to him with tape on my mouth that says 'frick that guy'

She must have been a damn sight prettier than the few broad-@ss Marines I served with.

But this is exactly why soft-tails in the armed services undermines unit cohesion and purpose.

Absolutely not and that guy is a shithead, assuming he is even legit. His actions give the impression that he is not.
