Cooler recommendations

Looking at coolers around the 20qt size on Amazon. All seem competitively priced and most have good reviews. I’m looking for a cooler that would be good for vacations at the beach. Any recommendations?

for a 20 quart size I would honestly just get a soft cooler from Wal Mart. It's going to be lighter, come with a shoulder strap, and be more versatile than something like a yeti 20.
Sure, it won't keep ice as long, but it will keep ice for 8+ hours which is plenty long enough to consume the contents of a cooler that size.
To each their own, but there really isn't a need for a rotomolded cooler that small, because it only has so much capacity the need for keeping ice for days really isn't there
For the job you're asking one to do, nearly any cooler will work. Some will outperform their duties at a higher price, but you only need them to perform their duties, keep stuff cold until you've eaten or drank all of it. a $20 ozark trail cooler will do that the same as a yeti in a cooler that size

I agree with Rubble soft cooler is the way to go for the beach. Lighter and you can throw it over your shoulder to keep your hands free for bags, chairs, umbrellas, etc...
I feel like a pack mule when we go to the beach.
Whether you choose hard or soft cooler Igloo would be a good choice.

Foldable wagon is the way to go to get it to the beach. Might have to carry individual items once you hit the sand, but all the places I've stayed had either sidewalks or boardwalks until you hit sand. I get the chairs and umbrella in place then go back to grab the cooler while the wife sets everything up.

Yeah, especially with the kids in and out of it all day. The ice never holds.

they make wagons with soft coolers built in now.

Ozark trail has a new one out. Keeps ice great, can be used as a soft side or with the hard insert.

Looks nice. I don't think I would ever spend money on a black ice chest though. Why make a cooler that absorbs sun?

try Ice Mule. I have the small and medium in it. They are perfect to keep in truck or travel as they roll up and store conveniently. As far as the price point and quality you will not be disappointed. Try the Classic large are the pro backpack style. Also search Hydro flask back sack cooler as I saw it on sale on their website for 50% off ($100)
I kinda have this obsession with bags and coolers.
I have the old style yeti soft coolers in 20 and 30 and the yeti flip 18. Also, Rtic 20,30 and 40 and the hydro flask 22.
i would also check amazon as they have a ton of cheap options. My brother in law recently got Mier Waterproof cooler for 69.99

this one is the one my bro in law has. I would put it on the same scale as Rtic as far as quality. 2 yr warranty on it as well

Best hard shell cooler is the yeti tundra which will retain ice for 10 days.
The pelican will go 8 days
For a typical beach run, just get the Coleman max or Coleman 50’quart extreme with wheels.
It can go about 6 days with ice
@$50

I've got a 37 colorless version that is great. Large enough to hold stuff for several people, small enough to still be able to carry it. Rope handles and built in bottle openers.

Have the lifetime and it keeps ice all day with my clients in and out of it. Yeti purse ftw in soffside.

If we didnt do that we would be stuck in the condo fixing fruit bowls for the day.

That’s why I insist on going fishing all day at least one day on a beach trip. Makes the women and children appreciate all the crap getting hauled to the beach or pool. Leave them alone for 8 hours and you’d be amazed at how little they can get by with.

I was gifted one of the larger ice mules and it is great for the beach. Leaves my hands free to carry all of the other crap required.
