The Saints met virtually as a team today and spent the entire meeting discussing the last few days. QB Drew Brees addressed the team and apologized. I was told by one player "it got real in their discussions, it was emotional" Another player added "We love Drew through it all"

Whats next for the Saints?
One player said "Most guys know, Drew is a type to make it happen, not just say it. He is going to exceed expectations to ensure he gets this right."

@diannaESPN
Most common response I am getting tonight from the Saints “we want to keep all this in house”

Although I don't think he needs to apologize. And who knows if he really did. But I'm glad they are showing some sort of support finally.

Yet their first reaction is to run to twitter and throw a hissy fit

It’s nice that everyone is on the same page. Drew did the right thing. The offended players did the right thing & acknowledge the effort

Nothing else really matters. Not Jamal Adams or lebron or hillbilly Saints fan

This is almost identical to the response Riley Cooper got less than 10 years ago when he got drunk and yelled “I’ll fight ever ____ in here”.

And it’s because one of the best men and THE greatest saint both as a player and person expressed his respect for the flag and anthem.

This country is deteriorating at a rapid pace.

I would not apologize for anything. Brees Should not have to apologize for his opinion when someones neighbor is out on a killing spree and joining mass crowds to loot and destroy businesses. This BLK community is fricked up in the head. Why kneel for what ? Kneel to support looting to support killing? frick no keep ya shite and get the frick off the team.

Funny how players had no problem keeping quite when the owner was financing a cover up of the catholic church's sex abuse.

I was just starting to show a little interest and leniency toward the NFL before this happened.
