It’s easy for people to be skeptical online. And I don’t blame them. For instance, I’m curious about your lofts on your irons because a 20 yd gap from a 52° to a PW is a lot. If your 52° is only topped out at 135, then your 9i at 170 has to be at least 2° strong. And if your lofts are jacked, it skews those totals. The wood numbers are long but even those can be manipulated. Honestly, I don’t know why you would carry 3 clubs that fly over 250 if you’re just an Am playing 6500-7000 yd courses.

My driver speed is about 110 and translates to an average carry of about 260 taking into account misses and changes in wind. And people call me long. Right now, I’m driving it pretty well. I’ve had a few drives the last couple rounds the rolled out over 300. My 3W is my 250 club. I carry a 3H instead of a 5W for the 235 yardage.

The rest:

3i - 225
4i - 210
5i - 200
6i - 188
7i - 175
8i - 165
9i - 155
PW - 145
54° - 125
60° - 105

I’m a 2.5 cap right now. Play regularly. Love my 54 and PW and feel good about hitting controlled shots with those two which is why I don’t carry a 4th wedge. Also, I love that 3i off the tee. Hit a low bullet fairway finder as often as I can. Just can’t pull it from the bag. I’ve actually considered pulling the 4 if I ever needed another wedge or even the 3W depending on course and length.

With those distances, I believer you.

You are a really strong player.

My PW is 46°, but my clubs are 19 years old and due to swinging force and how long I have had them (and maybe hitting some roots here and there), I would imagine I have changed the lofts a little on them more so with the ones I use the most like the PW (if that is even possible).

A lot of the distance gaps can be attributed to the clubs not fitting me perfectly anymore. I was early teens with I got them and they are stiff shafts (that have gotten less stiff over time). Last time I got fit (I didn't buy anything though), I was fit for x-stiff. So there is a decent amount of "whip" too them depending on how hard I try to swing that club. Like my irons that I try to swing 100% with more often vs some clubs I am only ever taking a 3/4 swing with. Then all my other wedges (non-PW) are cleveland with different shafts than the rest of the irons, so that changes some of it too.

I carry the 3 wood as a driver on holes that I can drive through a dogleg or something, plus it gives me a chance to still reach a par 5 if I take an iron of a tee or screw up the drive. I plan on getting new clubs this year and getting a 4 wood or weak 3 wood, pulling the 5 wood and getting a driving iron to fill that gap. I have also kicked around the idea of getting another wedge (maybe 64°) to help on the low end. I have analysis paralysis when it comes to golf though, there are SOOOO many options. That is why I am still playing those old arse irons. lol.

Plus with work and young kids I don't get to play much anymore. I am down to only around 1-3 rounds a year. Hopefully my son will be old enough to have fun with it next year and I can get back into it.

Please develop your short game. You’ve got legit top end fulfill swing talent that I would love to have.

Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words, but I am at the point in my life that any form of competitive golf is not intriguing to me. I just like to have a good time with good people now. I do regret not putting more effort into it and trying to walk on at some college when I was younger but life finds a way to work out.

If any of y'all are in the BR area and want to play, I would be interested in going and having a good time. I'm sure you will get some laughs out of watching me ping pong all over the course.
