2013 F250 Dash removal AC blend doors.

I'm not sure if anyone has had issue but my temp blend door started losing its mind.
I pulled the dash today and changed both the temp blend and the outside air actuators. Part number YH1894 for both.
The dash comes out in a solid piece with like 8 bolts. If you don't have a magnetic 10mm socket get one. I used tape mashed in the end but it would have been easier.
Here is the video for the whole removal. Not mine. I made one but found this.

Picture of dash off. Not mine. This one was better with the two red boxes.
There are three blend doors in the XL. The two in the picture and one that selects the vent position by your accelerator is Part number YH1958

It’s amazing that Ford hasn’t improved the design on these actuators. It has been a problem for years. Kudos to you for tackling a job of that magnitude.
PS - I hate dash work

Maybe 3 hours..
Once you get the right bolts. About 8 plugs and the drive shaft and emergency brake cable out it's pretty damn easy.
The dash is heavy as shite. Get a second person. You'll need 7,8,10mm sockets for most everything. #20 torx bit for the actuator screws.
It was 10 times easier than my f150... You can tell the dash is modular. Hardest thing was going back and getting the drive shaft to square up. Coming through the floor it moves some so it's not too bad. I did put blue locktite on the 10mm I put back in.
I got smart and got a pop up table and place next to my truck on both sides to lay out all the plastics.

I paid to have that done a couple years ago and it set me back a few hundred just on labor. Looking at your pics, it may have been worth it.

It's pretty shitty but wow I had no idea how long they were going out. My outside air wasn't closing all the way. Sometimes my AC was cold and other times warm. It was aggravating.
Change yhem all out while your in there. Just note that on the dual zone they are a little different. It's easiest to just call Ford dealer and they'll get you the exact number for your truck. Prices are not much more than ordering and worth the less headache of trying to research all the shite I did.

I was quoted 4 hours for labor at like $100/hour. It really wasn't terrible. If a buddy needed it done I wouldn't have a problem doing it again.

This was the advice I always gave my customers. The labor is relatively the same. Change them all!

Replaced a blend door on my F150 years ago and it only took about 15 minutes.
Maybe it was because I only had to change the one right behind the radio.
