I know this has been debated before, but well I have never seen it.
So who would it be?
Babe Ruth
barry Bonds
Willie Mays
Hank Aaron
Lou Gehrig
mickey mantle
Ty Cobb
Ted Williams
A-Rod
taking into account more than just home runs, looking at AVG, Hits, Runs, Walks, defense, everything who was most complete.

Would be Griffey Jr. had he stayed healthy. But I'm gonna go with Mays. Wouldn't be surprised, when all is said and done it would be A-Rod.

I've seen 'em all with the exception of Ruth, Gehrig, & Cobb.
Wille Mays was the most complete, all around player of them all.

Ruth is the best even without pitching. 207 OPS+ (Williams=191, Bonds=182), 2nd in OBP (.474 to TW's .482), easily 1st in SLG (.690 to TW's .634), 1st in RC/27 (12.6, TW=12, BB=10.6). The career 122 ERA+ is just gravy.

Nah, he might the best pitcher, but he's not much of a hitter or fielder.

Ruth...there is no major league player today that could swing a 42 ounce bat and hit over 700 HRs.

I agree Ken Griffey Jr. if he did not get all those injuries. He had the smoothest swing, greatest glove and just dominated the field. Injuries held him back from breaking big records.
