Watford gone.
Javonte problem spot. Need better leadership, defense, and decision making at the 1.

Are we still going with this narrative? The kid had TWO horrible turnover games at the very beginning of the season (literally games 2 and 3) and a chunk of the fanbase NEVER let him live it down the rest of the season. That, despite the fact he had the best Asst/TO of all PG's in SEC play. And, he was the primary PG on a team that finished with the 4th most efficient offense in the NATION. His only "sin" is that he didn't make the highlight plays that Waters did. But from an overall offensive perspective LSU didn't suffer, AT ALL (over the course of the season), without Waters.
Defensively he didn't match Waters's steal numbers, but he was FAR from the only guy on last year's team that didn't defend. Almost NO ONE on last year's team played defense. You don't get to be as terrible as LSU was on defense by just one guy playing poorly.
Smart is fine. And there is no one better on the team at creating out of nothing and making a tough shot than Smart.

I’d say his decision making, at least in terms of distributing the ball was pretty good. He didn’t try to do too much with the ball (hence the lack of turnovers). He doesn’t have the court vision that Waters had, but he also took a lot less risks.
His shot selection improved as the season went on and hopefully that will continue. As long as he doesn’t try to be James Harden we will e just fine.

He really played well in the sec
You just have to realize he isn’t a true PG. more of a combo guard.
I’m curious to see how he plays without Waters or Mays next to him. He’ll have to commit to being more of a distributor. Needs to make that extra pass. I’d prob start with having the veteran Manning next to him & not a tFr. Though out of all the Fr, I think Jalen cooks development is the most important. He’s next in line.
