I read Dandy Don every morning (not a Dandy basher), but when reviewing matchups for the upcoming season in his season preview, he always compares teams by the same position. For example:

quote:

I give Georgia the edge at all positions on offense except for the offensive line. On defense, I give LSU a big advantage in the defensive line, but I give Georgia the advantage at the linebacker position and I call the defensive backfield even

Wouldn't it be more pertinent to compare LSU OL vs. GA DL, WR's vs. DB's, etc.?

I've seen it done both ways

BTW if this is what bothers you the most today you're doing pretty good.

Dandy Don is OK - he is just a fan who loves the Tigers like the rest of us. Give him a break, or better yet, buy him a beer.

He is a huge fan that has dedicated a large portion of his life to following and giving his views on LSU Athletics to the world via the internet. He reports from the gut and I feel that is his greatest shortcoming. DD makes like he is a serious reporter and he is just a fantasic fan that is willing to put hours and hours each day towards his love of LSU sports. Of everything he brings to the table, I think his preseason game by game breakdown is the least valuable. I understand breaking down pre-conference games and a SEC outlook, I just think breaking down the finer points of the LSU-Bama game in July cannot be done very well. Keep up the go work and do that thing you do DD!

Dandy is a name I find give me nausea.

LSU's runnungbacks are the key to our season.

Stafford likely is over Hatch but we don't really know?

Moreno's been dikin around all summer and gettin into hot water with HC Richt.

I would be willing to be that each update doesn't take more than 15 minutes. Now he has changed his prediction to LSU over Georgia. I mean the guy is purple and gold to a fault.

quote:

I have received several not so nice emails getting on my case for predicting LSU to win the first eight games of the 2008 season.

quote:

In the last five years I have predicted LSU to go 76-0 and they have gone 66-10, and I will take that any day.

+1

Once I started lurking on the droppings, my allegance to DD was all but gone.

Dandy is comparing apples to apples and leaving it up to you to make the opposing comparisons. Basically he is saying that you know our team better than any other team, now here is how we stack up. You know the strength of our defensive line, and if the other team has a stronger defensive line then you know by comparison how hard it will be for our offensive line to control them.

Now, using your system what position would you compare to the following:
Quarterback
Linebackers
Kickers
Punters
Tight ends

Seems to me Dandy’s system is easier to handle.
