My family has had some great medical assistance and some okay experiences

Some are heros and were heros before and some just doing a job

Somebody had to step up and make sure TikTok didn’t collapse and our health care workers rose up to the challenge.

If you don’t appreciate all those nurses getting paid $50 an hour to perform choreographed bad twerking for Tik Tok, then later getting fricked by the married doctors in the medical closet; then you don’t know a real hero when you see one.

My wife is an ER doctor, when people thank her in various stores for her service it makes her recoil, she's knows there's nothing exceptionally noble about what she's doing, and it's what she took an oath/signed up for.

well surely by that rational you don't think we should thank the military? It's really okay to thank someone for doing a job, even if it's one they signed up for. Hell, nothing wrong with thanking your trash man, it's not an enviable job.

You took this way out of context, I never suggested, much less implied that we should not thank veterans, what I described was a personal experience of mine.

I didn't say you did, I was implying that it was a similar circumstance...this has not been routine for many in the medical industry, and while they know what they have signed up for, a contagious pandemic is not something we see that often. I'm not equating it with a war, but it's worthy of a thank you (in my opinion).

I completely agree, and if you thought I meant healthcare workers are not worthy of thanks, then I apologize, they most certainly are.

People are downvoting your wife even though they think she is a hero. Crazy times

I’m not sure who is worse, the people who call a nurse a hero, or the person who bitches about nurses being called a hero

Who gives a frick either way?
