Lake Houston is worth your time. Great white bass fishing too if you can find them

Are you fishing from the bank, have a kayak or a bass boat?

Sheldon Reservoir off the Beltway near Channelview. You can fish in a kayak or a Jon boat. Lake Houston is an option as well but probably need a bigger boat and about 2 weeks of no monsoon rain since it muddies up quick.

Trinity River system has some pretty good Striper/Hybrid/White Bass fishing. There is some other areas that hold solid numbers of fish as well. Taylor’s Bayou is another good place to fish, find some agricultural drains with moving clean water and you can fill a box up pretty quickly.

Fayette County Lake is the best bass lake in the area but you will need a boat. Conroe is a cluster during the summer months with all the recreational boat traffic but has big fish in it.

If you decide to get a boat, take a good look at Lake Livingston. Good bass fishing and not a bad drive from Baytown.
