I have always been a hard worker. But I took over as boss on my division a little while back and worked hard to make sure everyone could do their jobs and be competent. So now during quarantine I am just copied on emails and make sure everyone is doing their job correctly and don’t honestly work very hard anymore.

I also think people use the words hard worker and responsible interchangeably.
I have a problem letting things go I know I’m responsible for. I don’t like dropping the ball.
Making sure I’m three steps ahead always is kind of a personality trait I have of taking responsibility.
I think people conflate that with working hard or doing more than required. If it’s assigned to me, you ain’t gonna have to worry about whether it’s done because I want to keep my job. Not because I’m some model employee.
