How long to boil for without the shell sticking to the meat? Total rookie boiling shrimp. TIA

Need butter and squeezed whole lemon in water to help prevent sticking
Bring water to boil, put shrimp in, return to boil as fast as you can, cut heat and cover, remove from water after 6-7 minutes
The OP is a rookie. Trying to keep it simple.

Many thanks. Working on em now. I can boil crawfish, no problem, but I don't wanna screw these shrimp up with the shells sticking.

Rouge's advice sounds good to me. I suggest you try it with 2 or 3 test shrimp and then adjust as necessary for the full batch.

A lot of times when I'm making stuffed bell peppers using a shrimp stuffing I'll just take peeled shrimp out of my freezer, defrost them and boil them like that. No shells to stick to the shrimp.
Every time I buy shrimp, usually in 20 or more lb. quantity, I'll just peel the shrimp, put them in a quart ziplock bag and cover them in water, make sure there's no air left in the bag and freeze them like that.
I got tired of the tails poking holes in the bags.
Bottom line is, Peel them and boil them already peeled.

Boil until they turn pink.
Peel off shell.
I have never heard of the shell sticking to the body.
I'm somewhat confused by your question.

If the shrimp aren't fresh, the shell can get thin and papery, then they can be hard to peel

They stick when they get overcooked IMO. Shrimp just need to cook to 145deg and they dont take long. Like I do with my crawfish I rather not boil them once I add them to the water. I let them poach and cook slower in the water also allowing time to soak up flavor.

bring water to boil, put shrimp in, bring back to boil, turn off heat and let soak 25 minutes. Done.
