I’ve got 2 sets of close friends that have “failed” Dave Ramsey time after time. It’s shocking how unprepared grown, working, early 50 yr old couples live on credit and have zero $$ in case of an emergency.

I’m really not suprised at how many people are terrible with managing money.
Close family member and spouse make excellent money and live paycheck to paycheck
Casual friends in Dallas make about $600k between them. They only avoided bankruptcy by turning everything over to a money manager who put them on a strict allowance. They both had jobs that put them in contact with ultra-wealthy people and they developed a taste for a lifestyle they couldn't afford. She had 300 pairs of shoes and an $80k BMW convertible. If he saw a boat he liked, he'd buy it and make room for it along with the three he already had.

Not only have I kept my cards clean, I paid off a vehicle just two weeks ago. Haven't worked a day since March 14 and haven't gotten unemployment or that alleged check from FedGov. Closing on a new house tomorrow.
The catch is the MIL is moving in with us to the new house.
You'd have been better off in debt.
