Do you think one of them has a shot at a 1,000 yard season? I know it will come down to carries but I just do not see it happening. All three have a shot but my conservative estimate is...
CS-750 yds.
KW and RM- 500-600yds. each
I'll hang up and listen.

I think your assessment is a pretty good assumption.

I have no clue how they're going to rotate the backs this year. It should be pretty interesting to see how that works out. My guess is that Keiland will start off getting the most carries.

Remember there is alot of uncertainty. After the first 3 games of the year we will know. Injuries will be a big factor. #5 ... don't know about how he can run inside but he can scoot in open field. #32 ... my gut is that he will be #1. ..#26 ..who can not drool when thinking about his future. #34, Ridley,.. showed at the spring game that he can run inside.. I think we are down-playing Q. Johnson.. at FB I think we will use him alot.

It will be interesting to see how the carries are distributed. With that said,if any of them get close to 150 carries they could approach 1000 yds,if they hold their avg. from last year.KW-6.8.CS-7.2.RM 6.6. I don't think they will have a big gap in carries as last year,as for as Hester(whoever starts) & everybody else.

If we mainly run the ball, which we will, no back... no back... with over 100 carries will average more than 6 yards/carry. This isn't fantasy football.

We will run the ball a lot so the YPC will drop.

Rushed for 2998 and passed for 3154. I don't expect it to be this balanced in 08.

The one to get the most carries will be the one that fumbles it the least. I'm guessing CS.

I agree that ball protection will be a big factor in the number of carries any back gets.Hope all of them do that job well.

I think LM and GC will really have to evalute KW, CS, and RM and maybe mix in TH and SR every now and then. Don't forget about QJ and SJ blocking for them.
See how frickin aggrevating that is???

Guess again, Scott fumbled twice last year. KW has the best ball security of the bunch. Just because he fumbled once in the spring game doesn't make him a "fumbler."

We rushed for about 3000 yards last season with Hester getting a little over 1000. The QBs got about 400 yards between them.
Figure 2500 yards from the running backs this year - that's conservative - but there's one less guy (Hester) this year. Unless someone steps up (like Ridley), and assuming TH isn't durable enough to get more than 500 yards (he had 350 last year), that's still 2000 yards (or more) to divide 3 ways.
With 3 guys gettings about 700 yards apiece the odds are pretty good one will get a few more carries a game and crack 1000 yards, IMO.

I expect we will rush for +3000 yards, but against the strong teams will we do +4 yards/carries? That is what will determine are eventual season success. A lot of these ranters fail to see the consequece of our young QB's not excelling. Miles will have to play more slam mouth football which no one is expecting. I am afraid that will happen.

We've won 2 NC's with QB's that came into the season with limited experience. We have one of the best quarterback developers in the nation in Crowton. Plus, look at the receiving stats for last year. The guys with the most yards per catch are all coming back.Tolliver should be able to help.O line will be very stong. Our passing game will be fine.

I bet between the 3 of them they all have over 800 yards apiece. Gary said it last year, "so many weapons, so many weapons". That will again be true this year.
That puts us up over 3000 yards rushing total with Trindon, Ridley, and the QB's getting the balance.

If one of those guys proves that he is a dependable guy like Hester then he will probably get the majority of the carries. A consistent performance that moves the chains with no turnovers will earn a lot of playing time.

For our backs to get the numbers our QB's have to shine and be a threat every play. This will unlikely happen.

Are Crowton and Miles going to play Holiday more? I seem to remember Miles saying something about that.
